WeddingHappy happened because two software engineers got married

WeddingHappy is a labor of love. We are software engineers and we met at work in 2007. Yes, we know you’re not supposed to date people in the workplace but this was the real deal. Once we were engaged, we ended up spending nine months planning our wedding in San Diego, California while we were both working full-time. After a few months of wedding planning on our own, it became clear that we needed some serious help from a professional. So we hired a wedding planner. She was awesome!


Even with our wedding planner’s amazing service, we still had a lot of tasks to keep track of and many decisions to make. And everything just snowballed during the last six weeks before the wedding.


Wedding planning was a fun experience but at times, it was so stressful. At some point during our planning, the process shifted from looking around, researching, analyzing all the options to just-make-a-decision-and-get-it-done-now-honey!


Since we’re recently married software engineers, we were inspired to make an app that we wished we had been able to use. We wanted it to be easy to use, fun but most of all, useful! This is the story of how WeddingHappy came to be.
